JOB TITLE: Licensed Electrician 12 month (Non-Exempt)
SUMMARY: To help maintain the physical plant in a condition of operation excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- A state electrical license is required.
- Must have and maintain a valid NC driver’s license.
- Must be a high school graduate or GED Certificate.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Furnish and maintain all hand tools required for performing electrical duties.
- Ability to with routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.

- Evaluation: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following and other duties that may be assigned:
- Installation of new electrical wiring or replacement wiring consistent with specifications, state, and local electrical codes.
- Responsible for making necessary repairs of all district owned electrical equipment in conjunction with all fire, electrical, and safety reports and maintaining all documentation related.
- Dose troubleshooting and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Installs and maintains all electrical equipment.
- Test continually of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components such as ohm meters, battery and buzzer, neon testers, watt meters, meg ohm meters, test lights, and oscilloscopes or other test equipment as required.
- Performs routine maintenance on cafeteria equipment
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and work orders
- Must maintain a current listed and readily available telephone number and be subject to call for service twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the maintenance director.
