POSITION: WrapAround Site Director
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of WrapAround Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree preferred, high school graduation required
- Previous experience with elementary/middle school required
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Basic School-Age Care, CPR, First Aid and Professional Development training required within 90 days of hire date.
- Must be registered for Early Childhood Credentials class within 6 months of hire date.
- Must complete School-Age Credentials within one year from the start of the semester immediately after hire date.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the program and teaches or directs developmental, recreational, educational, tutoring and peer teaching activities.
- Supervises students and insures proper supervision of all students by WrapAround staff.
- Proper supervision requires that students can be seen at all times. Implementation of approved, written disciplinary policies is also the responsibility of the Site Director.
- The Director will educate all WrapAround staff as to the approved discipline policies during orientation. Approved discipline policies are included in Section .1800 of the NC DCD Child Care Requirements and the Parent Handbook for WrapAround Services.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct orientation training with each new staff member. Orientation must include training on proper supervision and approved disciplinary policies in accordance with Section .1800 of the NC DCD Child Care Requirements.
- Plan a variety of age appropriate indoor and outdoor activities for students enrolled by introducing a new activity daily for each age group.
- Prepare weekly activity plans to reflect a new daily activity for each age group. Activities should contribute to the care, growth, and development of the students attending.
- Insure that the Lead Assistant maintains accurate daily attendance records.
- Enroll students, collect fees, and maintain all financial and student records.
- Use all school equipment and property carefully and appropriately.
- Maintain copies of purchase orders for all supplies and equipment purchased for use at the site.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies necessary to effectively carry out age-appropriate activities.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary environment to include sweeping and mopping floors of areas and bathrooms used by the WrapAround Program. Tables, utensils used for food service, and juice containers must be cleaned and sanitized. Periodic cleaning of refrigerators, microwaves, and water fountains in compliance with sanitation standards is also required.
- Communicate weekly or as needed with the Principal or Assistant Principal and the Director of WrapAround Services.
- Send updates from the WrapAround program to the school office for inclusion in the monthly school newsletter.
- Supervise the sign-in and sign-out procedures for the proper release of students only to those adults authorized by the parent or guardian.
- Secure the building properly upon close of the program daily.
- Attend professional development courses and in-service training as required by the Director of WrapAround Services or certifying agencies.
- Attend monthly scheduled WrapAround Directors meetings.
- Conduct on-site staff meetings to provide in-service training for WrapAround employees.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of WrapAround Services.
